We got rained on a few times but it was fun none the less. On the way home things were pretty uneventful. That is if you consider navigating a small plane through thunderstorms in New Mexico uneventful. One struck about 500 yards or so from the plane but other than that we kept a good distance.

Coming into Oshkosh is quite the experience as there are so many planes all landing at once, and in some places I say that quite literally. Calling it a zoo in the air is probably a good way to put it as there are multiple planes literally getting in line and then landing one after another. Captain Bruce handled it just fine. Here are some pictures of Oshkosh.

So my trip was pretty cool. First on Friday night we flew to Scottsdale and left the next morning. It was 95 degrees at 6:30 in the morning so we were glad to get out of there. Here are some pictures of the trip to Arizona and then Wes, the son of the guy I went with, infront of the plane Saturday morning.

Next we flew to Liberal Kansas. As we arrived the other plane we were flying with had a problem with it's landing gear and had to hand crank it down. So we spent the afternoon there seeing if we could get it fixed with little luck. We left on Sunday morning for Wisconsin one plane short as well as a few bags in order to fit into one plane. As for my first trip to Kansas, I have one thing to say...FLAT!

Here are some more pictures from my trip.

This is the other plane that we went with in flight.

A couple nice pictures of the Mississippi.

A cool shot of a Blue Angel. These were pretty amazing to see flying. By the time you head it coming you would look up to the right and the jet would already be over your head to the left. Very fast plane.

Here was an afternoon at Oshkosh as the storm rolled in.
Well, I am back safe and sound and had a blast. From George in Liberal Kansas, to watching B-17 bombers take off, to navigating through thunderstorms in New Mexico, it was quite the adventure. I will update some pictures when I return.

Hey everyone. Tonight I am going to be headed out on my friends Cessna 210 (a small 6 seater airplane) and flying across the country (well 2/3 of it) to Oshkosh Wisconsin, which is the largest Air show in the nation. Oh is it going to be a fun adventure. Obviously would appreciate everyone's prayers for saftey. OUr plan is to fly from Irvine tonight to Scottsdale and spend the night there. Then we are making our Democrat flight on Saturday with a stop in Liberal, Kansas and then to Clinton Iowa. Spending Saturday night in Clinton, and then waking up Sunday morning and flying to Oshkosh. Sounds like we will be shooting home on Wednesday. I will post pictures when I get back. As my friends license plate states: "OHH2FLY"

Here is our trip plan so you can see where we are going.

Friday Night Irvine (point A) to Scottsdale (B)

Saturday Scottsdale (B) to Liberal Kansas (C) to refuel

Liberal KS (C) to Clinton Iowa (D) and stay Saturday night

Sunday Quick 45 minute flight from Clinton IA (D) to Oshkosh Wisconsin (E)

Well, guess I should at least post one picture. Here is me and a couple of my friends from work on a coffee break at Starbucks. Can you tell we work hard?

We also like taking our dog to the beach and enjoying the summer in So Cal.

Well, since we have such a positive response we figured we would put up some pictures of our trip to Hawaii that we went on last month. We are definitely very blessed to see and experience the things we have.

Here are a few more from the holiday.

Kelly and I had a few friends over for the 4th of July. It was the first one at our house. We had a great idea and decided to BBQ outside in our backyard. We spent the morning getting it setup and cleaning. Then on my way back from the store around 4 in the afternoon, I noticed that our whole neighborhood was setting up tables and BBQs in their front yards. There were even a few bounce castles. Not wanting to be the Scrooge of the neighborhood we decided to move our picnic table in the front yard. Boy was that a good move. In Costa Mesa, fireworks are legal so there are huge block parties everywhere and there were so many fireworks going off that you did not know where to look. Then we were able to watch the big fireworks from our front yard. Our dogs even came out to watch the show. As you can see, Kelly and I were making Ice cream and even Lauren got into the patriotic spirit with her red scarf.

Well, I guess I will finally kick in and join this whole blogging community. We are always taking pictures and I guess it will be an easy way to share this with others.
